Leadership Academy
The Scottsdale Area Association of REALTORS® Leadership Academy was created in the spring of 1997. It was the brainchild of two SAAR Past Presidents: Lin Ferrara (1992) and Nick Petra (1994). Both are also graduates of the City of Scottsdale Leadership Program. They built it in the "likeness" of the city's program with a real estate/community-focused twist.
To date, we have approximately 220 "graduates" of our Leadership Academy. Many have chosen to be involved with our Association and we are always looking for "fresh faces" to strengthen and develop our Association programs.
Recognized both locally and nationally, we look forward to identifying a new CLASS of emerging leaders. The SAAR Leadership Committee description and goal is to identify future leaders for SAAR and the communities and expand Member knowledge of volunteer opportunities in Scottsdale and the surrounding communities.
The Leadership Academy introduces its candidates to the community and the associations they are a part of and much more. This is an eleven-week program of intense learning experiences. The Program requires a short-term commitment of 11 weeks and a long-term commitment to become involved in your Association and community.
Graduates have gone on to become leaders in the Association, leaders in the community, and some have even entered into the government arena. They have improved their leadership qualities to enhance their business as well as the companies for which they work. Leadership is the KEY!
